Who Can Use Checkout Extensibility?

To utilize Checkout Extensibility, your store must be on the Shopify Plus plan. For stores on the Basic Shopify plan or higher, some basic checkout customizability is available using apps, but the full suite of features is reserved for Shopify Plus users.

Steps to Upgrade to Checkout Extensibility

1. Review Existing Customizations

   • Go to your Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Checkout, and click on "View personalized report" to see existing customizations.
   • Download the report as a CSV file if needed.

2. Assess Thank You and Order Status Page Customizations

   • Review your installed apps and additional scripts by navigating to Settings > Apps and Settings > Checkout.
   • Identify and document any customizations on these pages.

3. Create and Publish New Customizations

   • From Settings > Checkout, click "Create draft" to begin your new customizations.
   • Add or edit apps and branding elements as needed.
   • Set up Pixels and other first-party features if applicable.
   • Review and publish your changes when ready.

Optional Enhancements

• Checkout Apps: Consider installing checkout apps from the Shopify App Store to boost conversions and increase average order value.
• Setting Up Pixels: Replace any checkout.liquid customizations used for tracking customer events with Pixels.
